Seventh Ephrata Dodgeball Tournament Fall 2010
EphrataMounts.com celebrated the seventh annual Dodgeball Tournament, crowning three champions for the Fall of 2010. A record Fifty-one teams comprising of over 338 players came together to to have fun while raising money for Juvenile Diabetes.
The Tournament designed to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes raised over $13,800, marking the fifth straight year that over $10,000 was raised.
The Champions of each circuit are listed below, but in my mind the real winners are the teams that raised more than the minimum required amount.
Four teams, Candy Shop ($1,225), TCOB ($1,000), Headcount ($600) and DOA ($500.00), all raised at least 500 dollars!! Other teams raising over $200 each were; Pretty Poison, Balls of Fury, Slick Chicks, Hit 'n' Run, Relentless, Spectacular Six, South of Center and BTP.
For their efforts, both TCOB (Senior Circuit) and Candy Shop (Junior Circuit) received a bundle of dodgeball clothes and memorabilia.
Congratulations, and thanks to all that participated, and all that helped.

How it all went down

Rookie Circuit
In the Rookie Circuit, from a field of eight teams, Mario Mafia (6-0, 12-2) came out victorious with a sweep of Kryptonite (4-2, 9-5). This marked the first year of the new 5th/6th grade format of the Rookie Circuit. Previous years the circuit consisted of 4th and 5th graders. And Mario Mafia comprised of most of the members of the 2009 Rookie Champion Army of Ballers did not disappoint, staking claim to the first ever repeat Rookie Champions. -
Junior Circuit
In the Junior Circuit, all four of the number one seeds advanced to the final four. And of those four, three came in with untarnished 5-0 records. However, the team that came in with one loss on their record prevailed as Relentless (6-1, 12-2) turned back Candy Shop (6-1, 12-2) in the Finals two games to zero. -
Senior Circuit
The Senior Circuit, featured a tournament record 27 teams. And it was not smooth sailing for the number 1 seeds coming out of pool play. Three of the six 1 seeds all fell in the opening round of the playoff bracket. By the time we reached the final four only two 1 seeds remained. TCOB, and the Harlem Globedodgers. TCOB advanced with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Just Dodge It (6-2, 14-6) while Headcount knocked off the Globedodgers (6-1, 13-4) by the same 2-1 score. In the action-less packed finals Headcount (7-1, 15-3) eliminated TCOB (7-1, 14-5) two games to zero.
